Plummer Home has a three-tier vocational program. All residents get assistance with completing job applications, interviewing skills and general coaching about appropriate dress and behavior. Wages are paid for all jobs in the vocational program.

Tier One of our vocational program involves Plummer Home-supervised vocational projects, such as catering, small carpentry or gardening. Projects last anywhere from a few weeks to a few months.

Tier Two places residents in local organizations or businesses that agree to provide appropriate supervision and feedback. Current and former placement partners include:

  • House of the Seven Gables

  • Walter Jacob Architects

  • Northeast Animal Shelter

  • Winter Island Park

Tier Three involves helping residents find paid employment at local organizations or businesses. Businesses that have employed Plummer Home residents include:

  • Market Basket

  • The Hawthorne Hotel

  • Pizza Hut

  • Beverly Cycles
