(Winter Island Camp sites are available for both Friday, July 15 and Saturday, July 16)

Spots: Clinics are limited to no more than 20 paddlers
SUP Race Skills

Time: 6:00-7:30 pm
Around the country SUP events are bringing ladies together to build community and increase the energy level on the water. Stephanie Shideler of Werner Paddles has a deep race experience and is excited to share her thoughts on improving skills, strategy and learning from past successes and failures.
This course is designed for the intermediate to advanced level paddler. Requirements are a board, leash, PFD, paddle and positive attitude. You can leave your board on the property for the race the next morning.
An avid SUP racer and all-around water lover, Stephanie brings a wealth of SUP racing knowledge having learned from a diverse range of the world’s best professionals in the sport. Racing for over 5-years in everything from the 6-mile sprints to marathon distance circumnavigations of NYC, Shelter Island, and Absecon Island, Stephanie has made a name for herself as one of the top females on the east coast.
SUP Skills for the Beginner
Instructor: Johnny O'Hara
Make your first time more enjoyable or improve upon your last outing with some strategic and technique suggestions from New England SUP race veteran Johnny O’Hara. Learn or improve your forward stroke and buoy turns as well as better plan your start and sprinting to the finish will all be covered. This course is designed for beginner and intermediate paddlers. Requirements are a board, leash, PFD, paddle and positive attitude.
About Johnny O’Hara:
Johnny O’ has been a lifelong waterman having grown up in the NE fishing city of “Glosta”, MA rowing dinghies, dory’s, racing seine boats and later team outrigger. He spent years in the frigid North Atlantic as a commercial “lobstahman”, scuba diver and surfer. He started SUP racing in 2011 competing regionally, nationally and internationally as well for “Team Ireland” and has been on the podium at such major events as Carolina Cup, BOP, WPA Championships.
