Since 2007, Plummer Home has been operating a music program. Started with the donation of a used piano, our music program has grown to a fully-outfitted program overseen by professional musician and producer Aaron Z. Katz.

In Plummer Home's Music Program, our youth write lyrics, compose and record music, perform and learn music theory. This year, they recorded their seventh CD, including several original tracks. They have also performed publicly.

We recently expanded this program to youth at On Point. The interest and enthusiasm has been immediate and strong. So quickly did some youth jump into playing that a combination of Plummer Home residents and On Point youth were able to perform together less than a month later.

More important than the musical and performing skills, is that through music, youth learn self-expression, coping mechanisms, communication skills and discipline.

Check out this recent episode from Chronicle on WCVB Channel 5 Boston about our music program!
