Intervention ModelChildren need families. We deeply believe that. We also believe they need skills and community connections. Ideally, these are built within the context of the family. When that's not possible and a young person must live apart from their family, the primary goal must be to get them back to their family or to a new, permanent family. During that time, it is essential that they continue to build skills and community connections.
Plummer's intervention model focuses on three concepts: permanent families, preparedness and community. When young people have all three of these things, they are more likely to succeed as adults. Each of our programs emphasizes these concepts to varying degrees depending on the program and the needs of the young people being served.
