Plummer Home Garden Project
The Plummer Home Garden Project was started three years ago by a group of local gardeners working with the Plummer Home.
The idea was to garden side by side with boys at the Plummer Home to foster connections with nature, community, food and business.
In the past three years, young gardeners have gathered seaweed for soil enrichment and tilled the land. They have collected seeds, planned crops, and plotted natural deterrents to greedy groundhogs.
For more information about the Garden Project, please visit the Plummer Garden blog.
This spring, gardeners prepared the plotted land by horse-drawn tilling, just as the Plummer Home did as a farm school in the 19th century!
