As a board member of the American Association of Children’s Residential Centers (AACRC), I was once again happy to present at their recent annual conference in Savannah. Each year at the conference, the AACRC releases a position paper related to best practices in residential programs. The position papers are recognized around the country and many organizations seek AACRC’s papers when doing research, citing best practices, drafting policy, and training staff.
This year Plummer authored the 13th position paper of AACRC’s “Redefining Residential Series”. The paper is titled “Redefining Residential: Strategic Interventions to Advance Youth Permanency.” In order to be selected as a position paper, the paper must go through an intense vetting process of the AACRC Public Policy Committee and Board of Directors.
This wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for the staff at Plummer and for all the work they do across all of our programs. This paper references the permanency practices that take place in our group home, specifically two cases from the residential programs.
Enjoy the paper,
-James E. Lister
